Feelings of loss or grief are personal, strong and expressed in many ways, all of which are normal.  We experience several different types of loss.  Death of a family member, partner, classmate or colleague, relationship breakup, loss of a close friend, serious illness of a loved one or even the anticipation of losing a loved one can lead to feelings a grief.

The 5 Stages of Grief

Everyone experiences grief differently, but there are commonalities in the stages and the order of feelings experienced during the time of loss. Knowing these stages can help you better understand the process and your needs.
